For a new year full of wellness: fitness trends in 2017

What will 2017 bring in terms of wellness? To answer this question, we consulted data, styles, gurus and web forecasts on fitness

Here is what we found:

  • wearable technology
    bracelets, FitWatches, fitness trackers, heart rate monitors, etc. will be next year’s commercial boom.  They are all each compatible with one or more apps and monitor your athletic performances, track routes and measure sleep quality
  • Neuromuscular Integrative Action
    better known by the acronym NIA, is a modern-day discipline, despite its emergence in the 1980s. NIA combines training, harmonic body building, breathing and posturing which all proves to be ideal for today’s needs where fitness and well-being are viewed as one
  • woga
    Yoga practiced in the water or poolside
  • yogalates
    a combination of the exercises and principles related to Yoga and Pilates
  • group training
    social sports activities make an overwhelming return to popularity, because training together is more motivating and fun; group activities will be the new trend in 2017, and Italian gyms are already adapting by making special t-shirts for each “team”
  • High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
    a trend that has already caught on this year, HIIT activities transform men and women into perfect and assertive machines, with workouts that benefit both the body and self-esteem.

In this maelstrom of ideas to stay fit, we can’t forget the ever-growing passion for running, which generates endorphins and improves health, mindfulness and “inner” practices.  Running is the new renaissance of boxing, the growing awareness that sport is one of the most enjoyable forms of preventative medical therapy.
